It's been a rough 48 hours since the election results rolled in, but as you dry your tears and decide what you're going to do to take action, try slicking a vibrant violet along your lower lash line to instantly illuminate those tired, sad eyes. Not your basic-bitch black or brown, this rather symbolic hue—donned recently by Hillary Clinton during her concession speech—is the ultimate way to face the future looking fresh.

“I have reservations about purple, but it fits most women,” said Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior makeup when discussing Dior, The Art of Color.  “It looks good on dark skin and fits every color eye.” Make like Camilla Belle or Laura Harrier and get in on the underliner trend with a bold band of lavender. Or slick a cream shadow (such as Ben Nye Lumiere Creme Colour in Cosmic Violet or Royal Purple—both of which were used backstage at Nina Ricci) across your entire lid, as seen on Solange Knowles.
