A celebrity serving as the face of a fragrance is nothing new. But doing it for free—or in the case of Angelina Jolie, doing it for those in need—is actually worth talking about. Not many people put their money (or their lucrative beauty contract) where their mouth is, but the A-lister (who also happens to be a Special Envoy of the UN Refugee Agency and co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative) is donating her entire salary from Guerlain's new fragrance campaign to charity. Mon Guerlain (bowing in March) is said to be inspired by Jolie and, according to perfumer Thierry Wasser, express the "notes of a woman."
While no details have been released regarding the scent just yet, we like to think it's unexpected (like the actress's incestual kiss with her brother on the red carpet), spicy (like her many romantic trysts, some of which involved knives), powdery (like the violet-scented Guerlain powder her mother wore), and tinged with a metallic note (to recall those days of yore when Jolie wore a vial of Billy Bob Thornton's blood worn around her neck). We also hope Guerlain's forthcoming fragrance has more staying power than a Hollywood marriage.
