It seems that it is never not campaign season in the world of fashion, and this week has seen the release of two very different types of ads.
First up is Saint Laurent, which is now up to its ninth installment of Anthony Vaccarello’s numbered campaign scheme. For the short clip, YSL09, Vaccarello has eschewed his normal ultra-hip models, and instead cast actress/singer Charlotte Gainsbourg to don his Fall 2017 collection in a vast concrete chamber. Once again, Nathalie Canguilhem is behind the camera for the video clip, although so far it is labeled a “preview.” Expect more to come from this particular series.

In other news, La Perla has released its Pre-Fall campaign staring Kendall Jenner. Famed photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were tapped to lens the flowery images, which feature items from the lingerie, ready-to-wear, and swimwear collections. The company has been doing its best to make a push into the ready-to-wear realm, also recently outfitting Jenner at the Met Gala, and hiring a slew of supermodels to walk the runway at its show during New York fashion week. It might help if there were more of a thematic separation between the three lines, but then again, the concept of “lingerie as daywear” seems to be what creative director Julia Haart is going for.
