Safe to say there is a lot of bold business strategizing going on in fashion right now. Brands left and right are breaking from the traditional fashion calendar (see: yesterday's Rodarte news); pursuing the "see now, buy now" model (see: basically everyone); and introducing new lines or categories altogether. Keeping in step with the times, Mansur Gavriel has sort of rolled all those aforementioned initiatives into one with a brave new plan. This morning, the CFDA award winning accessories label announced it will be joining the see-now-buy-now club, replacing its standard Fall presentation with a pop-up shop promoting current Spring '17 merch.
But that's not all. After adding footwear to its resume in 2015, Mansur Gavriel—originally beloved for its understated bucket bags— has now decided to introduce clothing beginning for Fall '17 during September fashion week. “We want to create a full world for our consumers and are thrilled to grow our product offering to include ready-to-wear,” said designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel. “Our decision to simultaneously switch to a consumer-focused calendar is also exciting. We're looking forward to offering our customers such immediacy.” Diehard fans will no doubt be happy to rock Mansur from head-to-toe.
