In news that is quickly becoming so commonplace it’s not really an “announcement” anymore, yet another brand will be merging its men's and women's collections into one show.
Today, WWD reports that Missoni will be holding a coed runway this September. This is the second Italian brand to do so in recent months, with Etro announcing it would combine its runways last March.
Angela Missoni has been having a landmark year, which just happens to be her 20th anniversary as the brand’s creative director. Last season, she made quite a statement by knitting pink pussy hats (it was the day after the international women’s march), and inviting the audience to join her on stage in a moment of solidarity.
In a way, joining together the men's and women’s collections is its own type of solidarity, showing the brand as one aesthetic vision. The Missoni show will be held on September 23, during Milan fashion week.
