There have been a lot of collaborations in fashion of late, but here’s one for a good cause: Naomi Campbell’s charity, Fashion for Relief, has teamed up with Diesel to create Child at Heart, a capsule collection from which part of the proceeds with be donated to Fashion for Relief.
“Fashion For Relief works in emergency situations in conjunction with other charities on the ground,” Campbell explained of her charity, which was founded in 2005. “This amazing and special project will provide much needed aid and support for refugee children.”
The organization has raised £4.5 million in funds over the past 12 years, but Campbell has been working with charities that help children for decades, since 1993, when she began working with Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund.
“I’m so happy that Naomi approached us to support this amazing cause,” said Diesel artistic director Nicola Formichetti. “We're very grateful that we can work together with Naomi and do good.”
The collection comprises t-shirts and hoodies that feature artwork designed by children, and to promote it, an impressive cast was gathered to create a campaign. Shot by Giampaolo Sgura, the images feature Campbell herself, as well as Formichetti, Barbara Palvin, Quincy Jones’s daughter Kenya Kinski-Jones, Robert De Niro’s son Aaron De Niro, Molly Blair, and Riley Montana, among others. Additionally, a Fashion For Relief charity event will take place during the Cannes film festival next month.
The Child at Heart collection is now available online and in 145 Diesel stores worldwide.
