’Tis the season to spend! Such was the theme on Wednesday night at a cocktail party hosted at The Apartment by The Line. To the uninitiated, The Line founded a unique retail concept, opening stores that appear to be functional living spaces, everything within them shoppable. The Apartment is a third-floor walk-up in Soho that’s essentially a compendium of the fabulous life we all dream of but will never have, product-wise, at least.

Guests—Jennifer Fisher, Pamela Love, Max Stein, Noah Mills, Miroslava Duma, Indre Rockefeller and Joseph Altuzarra among them—sipped Champagne, nibbled on caviar-topped blinis, and eyed the merch. “It’s the holidays, so we wanted to do something festive,” Vanessa Traina, owner of the home-cum-store, said. She was acting as co-host along with Gabriela Hearst and Dakota Fanning, who spent much of the evening sequestered to a couch. “Caviar is always a good one,” Traina said when asked for a good go-to crowdpleaser gift. Shoppers felt an alleviated sense of guilt for pulling out the plastic as 10 percent of sales from the party went to Save the Children. “It’s so important, always of course, but especially right now,” Hearst said, exquisite in a mossy velvet dress of her own design. “We just moved into a new office so I really need some home stuff,” Altuzarra offered when asked if he was looking for anything particular at the party. Most guests were likely doing a lot of their holiday shopping the following morning when the designer’s sample sale would be starting at 9 a.m. “I’ll be there around 10,” one said. “It’s so amateur to get there right when it opens.”
