The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, which means that your social feeds are filled with star-spangled, red, white, and blue shopping stories (which are, perhaps, a nice break from articles on this circus-like election). We did one, too. In all seriousness, though, commemorating America’s birthday in some capacity is important. We advise a celebration through shopping—after all, who doesn’t love new clothes and a chance to help out the American economy? If you’re going for a very subdued twist on patriotism, try a pair of star-studded Saint Laurent sneakers or Balenciaga’s sleek striped tote. For those of you feeling especially patriotic, check out Valentino’s star-themed mini skirt or a little red clutch from Jimmy Choo. If you’re a member of the fashion set and will be jetting off to Paris over the holiday for Couture, why not show your American pride with a sweater from Marc Jacobs that has not only stars and stripes, but also our country's signature colors? Click through the slideshow to shop all of market director-at-large Jessica Minkoff’s picks for translating classic American themes into your next major fashion purchase. Come on, you know you want to.
