Grace Coddington may have stepped down from her role at Vogue, but the fiery-haired former creative director's famed feline obsession is still very much in style. "Do I dream predominately about fashion?" Coddington asked in Grace, her 2012 memoir. "No," she wrote. "I dream much more about cats." It seems the fashion world feels the same: From Loewe's feline neck pendants and Chanel's cat emoji-adorned accessories (a nod to Choupette Lagerfeld, Karl's very chic and very fluffy animal de compagnie) to the cat prints at Undercover and Alexis Mabille, feline motifs were splashed all over the runways this season. And let's not forget Pre-Fall, with everyone from Gucci, No.21, Stella McCartney, and Miu Miu, who even featured a tiny tuxedo kitten named Truman in its latest fragrance campaign, displaying kitties on their wares. These furry friends have even infiltrated the beauty world—top hairstylist Guido Palau's ginger cat Ned is the apple of his eye. With all the talk about direct-to-consumer, runway relevancy, et cetera, cats bring a charming and lighthearted touch to what seems to be a bit of a tumultuous period for the industry. (Um, not to mention, they're très chic. See Dolce & Gabbana, look 48.) Now, can we finally put the hackneyed, curlers-and-bathrobe-wearing #crazycatlady archetype to rest? They don't call it a catwalk for nothing.
