Not billowy enough to be a palazzo, yet not skinny enough to be deemed a cigarette pant, this season's tailored trousers fall somewhere in-between.
From the navy pair worn by It girl Lineisy Montero on the runway at Jason Wu, to the rose-hued velvet version seen at Creatures of Comfort, slouchy wide-legged pants are a noticeable trend emerging this NYFW. A low-slung iteration graced the catwalk at Zimmermann in the brand’s signature jacquard-style fabric, while Suno debuted a range of the trousers featuring checks and pinstripes.
The silhouette is akin to the pajama pant look of seasons past, and though they may be as relaxed, they are undeniably more refined. An easy answer for office attire yet elevated enough for post-work cocktails, the relaxed wide-legged trouser is both flattering and functional.
