Hair Accessories Are the Next Frontier for Harley Viera-Newton

This matchy-matchy beauty trend from your childhood is making a comeback

Harley Viera-Newton’s line of vintage-inspired floral frocks and pajamas, HVN, have racked up quite a few celebrity fans (many of which are members of the It girl and DJ’s star-studded circle of friends) since its launch in 2016. Now, Newton is expanding her territory to include matching hair accessories, many of which call to mind the late ’80s and early ’90s when coordinating headbands and scrunchies were plentiful at sartorial hotspots like Limited Too.

Set to launch this spring, the girly hair ties and headbands in fun, feminine prints are bound to be a hit with ladies looking to capitalize on the matchy-matchy trend happening on the runway right now. (That, or coordinate with their cat.) While Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott tasked pros like Josh Wood and Eugene Souleiman with crafting vivid dye jobs to mimic the colors found in their Fall 2018 collections, stringing a piece of silk ribbon through a braid or slipping a fabric band around the base of a ponytail is a far simpler way to get the look minus the commitment. Now, if only Newton would recreate the matching playsuits she sported with her cousin, Alice Dellal, in time for summer…
