Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear
February 15, 2017
• Barbara Tfank’s collection notes were evocative of the nostalgia one feels when remembering a much-beloved dress.
• As always, Tfank created a cocktail and eveningwear-heavy collection, much constructed of the most exquisite fabrics she could source.
• Velvet appeared throughout, as well as French brocades, Italian double-faced satins, tulle, tweed (which was trimmed in leather), and fox fur. “Each fabric has an intrinsic value, and it kind of speaks to you—at least to me—and I know what to do with it,” she explained. “I guess that’s part of being a designer.”
