Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear
February 11, 2017
• “I was in upstate New York, and there was this man who collected all of these 1920s Japanese robes,” explained Tanya Taylor at her Fall 2017 presentation. “I had never been to Japan and I got really into the history of it. This was a time when women were wearing a lot of color and they were feeling very powerful with color, and I think that’s so our woman.”
• The collection, fittingly, was an explosion of vibrant reds, indigos, deep purples, and salmon shades.
• A contrast between the feminine and the masculine was noted. For instance, there were military details on jackets, but also ruffles on denim tops.
• One highlight? Taylor’s first footwear offering—lace-up boots and sandals in color-blocked tones, sure to catch women’s attention (and carry through to Spring and future seasons).
