Dusan

Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear

Paris

BY William Buckley

March 5, 2018

Dusan Paunovic’s eponymous collection doesn’t delve into socio-political concepts like so many of his contemporaries’. His focus is on comfortable, elegant clothes in the finest fabrics—think double-faced grey/pink cashmere coats or iridescent cream velvet drawstring sweatpants. Luxe. This season though, something a bit different—Chinese-inspired jacquard in a long, lapel-less overcoat, loose-cut pants, or a collarless shirt, decorated with what looked like bold strokes of white paint. With all the commentary going on in other collections, the urge to analyze Dusan’s offering is strong, but he is simply about beautiful things, and as his upscale customers browse through racks of astonishingly soft sportswear, including au courant options like the aforementioned sweats and cashmere and down puffer jackets, they’ll be thrilled to add these sumptuous statements to their wardrobes.
