This season’s Ann Demeuemeester collection felt like a shoutout to her fans, a greatest hits reel of the designer’s signature tailoring and silhouettes.

Creative Director Sebastian Meunier conjured up poetic seas inhabited by mystical shamans and pirates. Black and white stripes added a graphic, pirate-y twist.

Things only got stranger from there. See: Daido-esque prints of emaciated dogs decorating scarves, which were displayed like frames on the front of the body. Decaying knits resembled birds nests. Talisman charms, feathers, and iridescent beads cascaded across the body.

“I am red with love ” came embroidered on several pieces with a DIY spirit. Red reigned here. As much as another color could (other than black) in the eternally poetic, dark AD royaume.
