Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear
September 13, 2017
Claudia Li wants her women to dream with the innocence and surrealism only children can.
In dreams, shapes are often abstract, and so Li’s spring summer 2018 collection offered volume, asymmetry, and fluidity in an array of dresses and ensembles.
Claudia Li picked up on this season’s cutout trend, showing dresses with structured openings. A silk navy dress with pencil skirt offered a boxy take on the trend.
Color-wise, the designer was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s films, mixing deep reds, bright yellows, and floral prints of goatsbeard and tulips.
Back in June, Claudia Li hinted at the theme of this collection. She delivered a good take on the ephemeral and abstract world we inhabit in dreams, until they come to an end.
