New York

Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear

New York

BY Ashley W. Simpson

September 13, 2017

We waited in the summer heat for Delpozo’s creative director, Josep Font, to send out his Spring 2018 show.

When it arrived, to a live band playing Xavier Cugat (Font’s collection was inspired by imaginings of past evenings at the Waldorf Astoria and lazy days by the pool), we wouldn’t have minded if it was shown in an actual sauna.

The offering—light, playful, and deeply sculptural—was beautiful and packed with charm.

The opening looks were easy—light sand scalloped daywear and separates paired with raffia headwear.

Neon accents appeared throughout the collection, and the eveningwear (always Font’s strongpoint) was lovely and whimsical.

Pastel neon gowns and Art Nouveau-referencing details stole the show.
