Get ready, Angel fans: the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is coming soon, and this year is going to be so Balmain. The lingerie giant announced in October that Olivier Rousteing would be a guest designer for its Shanghai show, airing on CBS November 28, with a capsule collection to be released the next day. Now, both brands are dropping teaser videos galore to build the excitement.
With a stellar list of models walking, like Lais Ribeiro in the $2 million Fantasy Bra, this year’s VS show is exciting on its own. Collaborating with Balmain, which has teamed up with other big names like L’Oréal and H&M in recent years, is just an added bonus. Victoria’s Secret released a steamy teaser Wednesday starring Sara Sampaio, and building off this momentum, the Balmain is posting a slew of promos on Instagram.
With slogans like “Get ready for the unexpected” and “From pink to punk,” Balmain is teasing the capsule’s seductive magic with behind-the-scenes videos. One clip features Rousteing developing no-limits punk rock looks with the VS creatives, while another shows Cindy Bruna wearing a tough-glam ensemble, which the lingerie team describes as blending couture and street style elements. In yet another peek, the supermodels goof off with the guest designer and gush over his empowering, sexy aesthetic.
“We believe in the same kind of woman. A powerful lady, a strong and confident, sexy girl that knows what she wants,” Rousteing said of the collaboration. This bold femininity shines through in close-ups of the pieces, which blend leather and spikes galore with jewels and the ever-present pink to create looks that will resonate on the runway and the street.
