In exciting menswear news this morning, Virgil Abloh, designer of Off-White, has been revealed as Pitti Immagine Uomo 92’s second guest designer, the first being Jonathan Anderson.
“It’s with great honor that I will be debuting my work as part of Pitti Immagine Uomo 92,” Abloh said in a statement. “I recognize that this platform is amongst the most important arenas for recording fashion history over the years, and it’s my goal to add a unique chapter to that story.”
Off-White is a unique and exciting choice for Pitti Uomo, as the brand has only existed for four years, yet has managed to garner quite a bit of commercial and critical success. Abloh himself is a fascinating figure in fashion, thanks to his background in engineering and architecture, and his ability to translate conceptual design ideas into streetwear-based aesthetics.
Abloh will present his Spring 2018 menswear collection, and part of his womenswear pre-collection, on June 15th.
