See the 74th Annual Golden Globes Through BFA’s Lens

From the red carpet to the after parties, get a glimpse of the A-list stars in their Sunday best

There were a lot of highs and lows at last night’s Golden Globes ceremony. For starters, there was more inclusivity this time around (Tracee Ellis Ross’ historic win for Black-ish comes to mind, as does Atlanta’s Donald Glover, who won best comedic actor), which speaks volumes given Hollywood’s noted lack of diversity throughout the years. It was a night of political fodder, too—host Jimmy Fallon, despite a clunky start, offered some zingers about our new President-elect. “This is one of the few places left where America still honors the popular vote,” he said. Also, who can forget Meryl Streep’s powerful speech? In terms of fashion, we were actually pleasantly surprised at some of the bolder choices actresses went for: Think Nicole Kidman’s whimsical Alexander McQueen number, Zoe Saldana in ruffled, hot pink Gucci, and a glittering Ruth Negga in a metallic Louis Vuitton concoction. But what’s most exciting of all about the Golden Globes is the red carpet arrivals (yes, we fully subscribe to the #AskHerMore campaign, but who’s wearing who, damn it!) and, obviously, the after parties. From Evan Rachel Wood’s custom Altuzarra suit, which she cooly told E! was an homage to Victor Victoria and David Bowie, to Hidden Fences star Janelle Monae’s flawless switch-up from a sparkling Armani Privé gown to a strapless Edition by Georges Chakra jumpsuit for the InStyle and Warner Bros. after party, BFA was there to capture all of the glitzy, star-studded fun.
