Creature of the Concrete

In Hood by Air's Fall armor, supermodel Soo Joo Park explores New York after dark

“This is the future of luxury,” proclaimed Katharine K. Zarrella, Fashion Unfiltered’s Editor-in-Chief, of Hood by Air’s Fall 2016 collection. “It’s inclusive, it’s challenging, and it’s honest.” Sure, saran-wrapped fur and latex aren’t for everyone, but boy, does it ever look cool. Even better: These deconstructed pieces and oft aggressive silhouettes designed with no one gender in mind provide an instant toughness that seems to say “Look, but don’t touch” the second you put them on. And for urban warriors not interested in shooting the shit, isn’t that the goal of getting dressed in the morning? Here, makeup artist VINCENT OQUENDO crafts graphic cat-eyes and glitter lips with just as much attitude and head-turning power as HBA’s clothes, styled by BEN PERREIRA on none other than seasoned supermodel SOO JOO PARK. There to capture all the after-hours action in the concrete jungle was photographer SEBASTIAN SABAL-BRUCE.
