Selena Gomez Kicks Off Revival Tour in Custom Monse, Karl Lagerfeld, Vionnet, and More

The 23-year-old has gone from Disney star to fashion plate

To kick off her global, eight-month Revival tour, which began in Las Vegas Friday night, Disney Channel star-turned-full-fledged-fashion icon Selena Gomez opted for none-other than custom Monse—specifically, a sheer, nude bodysuit adorned with nearly 100,000 Swarovski crystals, which was created in collaboration with the luxury Austrian jeweler and “Revival” fashion director Christian Classen.

The bedazzled garment, which worn during the show’s “Runway/Masquerade” themed first act, is just one part of the opening getup she sports on her second solo tour. (The catsuit sits underneath a black taffeta full-length gown, also designed by the newly launched label helmed by Oscar de la Renta alums Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, whose wares Gomez has been coolly sporting lately.) The songstress paired the look with patent Louis Vuitton boots and a custom Michael Schmidt mask.

For the second portion of the five-act show, which is called “Man and Machine/Technology” (Met Ball much?), Gomez donned a glistening, bespoke Karl Lagerfeld dress, embroidered with 12,000 pearls, beads, and sequins. (According to WWD, the ensemble took more than 200 hours to make at Lagerfeld’s Paris atelier.)

For the remaining three acts, “Sixth Sense,” “Dia de los Metros,” and “Revival Celebration,” the “Hands to Myself” singer sports custom Vionnet, Jessica Jones, Sonia Rykiel, and shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, Fausto Puglisi, and Louis Vuitton. (Gomez chose a look by the latter brand for last week’s Met Gala.)

Gomez’s fashionable tour, in which she rocks both high fashion and up-and-coming designers, is proof that the 23-year-old has been impressively marking her sartorial territory. Aside from attending Louis Vuitton’s Spring and Fall 2016 romps in Paris, the singer has graced the covers of both V and W magazines. Props to #slaylena.
