Katharine K. Zarrella is a New York-based journalist, critic, and editor, who joined The Wall Street Journal in December 2019 as Fashion Editor of the Off Duty section. Having lived in Rome, Paris, and London, Katharine launched her career by freelancing for publications including Interview, The Business of Fashion, Dazed & Confused, and SHOWstudio, among others. She earned an MA in Fashion and Fashion Journalism from London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, spent two years as the news editor at Style.com, and held the title of senior editor at V Magazine and VMAN. A strong believer that fashion is a reflection of and barometer for our current cultural climate, Katharine is particularly interested in the intersections between art, fashion, popular culture, and commerce. She is a fashion history fanatic, a staunch supporter of emerging talents, and a compulsive hat collector. Katharine currently lives in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village with Mssr. Francois Froufrou and Mme. Coco, her two deeply chic black rabbits.
